The BBC is reliable when it comes to the straightforward reportage of facts. The choice of which stories to give prominence, and the framing of stories, is another matter; and bias is very evident - and unavoidable, insofar as all editorial choices are ultimately political. For what it's worth, I would characterise the BBC as the 'Centrist Dad' zone in terms of UK politics, with some tendency to follow the shifting political weather; but that is a matter of its editorial policy, not reportage of facts. Since I was only relying on the BBC for the basic outline of the facts in my OP, your jab at the BBC for being "Communist" was, again, totally irrelevant. In future, it might be a good idea to try to indicate the significance of your comments to the discussion at hand rather than just being triggered by the mention of institutions you dislike into posting irrelevant babble. ![]() |
