I've never understood why people feel so inclined to share an identity corresponding to their most personal feelings with everyone around them. Well, I can understand that it's helped, politically speaking, the gay community to get accepted and gain some legal rights. But that's still a very strange thing to do, and certainly not helpful for MAPs. We aren't ever going to marry our yfs, are we?^^ So, why would one need any kind of public recognition?

When a group is under the thumb of the State and its Church for a long time like most homosexuals, there actually is value in being OUT. It's showing the public that they are not "ashamed" or feeling "guilt-ridden" etc.

And to be embarrassed for sharing ones authentic feelings? That's a Western-centrick anti-sex and pro-war value it seems to me.

There probably WILL be a future scenario someday where there will be an attempt to marry our yfs! As it's true that 'history repeats' when a movement doesn't really understand history.

Because to me, it can only mean that they have no social cues and have no idea how to avoid a scandal.

In the present situation I can see what you are saying. In a future scenario, where such anti-sensual attitudes are being actively demystified and exposed, however, I disagree.

Such is only "creepy" in the context of our heavily-propagandized anti-sex/sensual war-stuck society! The recent generations have been STEEPED in emotionally-potent oversimplifications that they are NOT SUPPOSED TO THINK THROUGH.

As for your last point, i think you are mistaken when it comes to HOW one might deliver such information. I.e. the attempt to keep the kind of MEANINGFUL communication that many who CARE about their kids WANT!

There is something to be said for "silence=death" even here. And it really does come down to whether people want to let the HYPE control their humanity or not.

But i'm open to hearing out your concerns!
