Bless you're heart, the devil knew just what buttons to push with that Blue Holloway song. A few cute faces and some catchy rhymes and the Father of Lies has you wrapped around his little finger.

The fact that the child in the story had a "rated R life" does not mean that it was pointless for the FCC to regulate that kids under 14 shouldn't be exposed to harmful topics. If the devil has you convinced that the kid would have been better off being exposed to rated x movies, then you have really lost the last of your marbles. Protecting children is the right thing to do even as all children necessarily deal with "adult themes" as a normal part of growing up. The thing the child in the story seemed to be missing was proper adult supervision/friendship. Every kid's parents fight. Every kid has to wrestle with hard truths and disappointments in life. That's normal and that's why sane and sober bls should get off their couch and get involved with their neighbors. Sometimes even infrequent visits can be enough to help an alienated boy feel understood and connected to other people. This is why groups such as churches are so healthy for families with children. During times when the parents are too absorbed in their own drama, someone from the church can step in to guide the kid to supportive relationships that fill in the gaps left by misbehaving parents.

The story you shared showed a boy who needs a friend, but also a lot of his story wasn't shown. For example, what was he listening to when he was moping around the neighborhood with his hood up? Maybe he's into a certain scene or maybe he's listening to sermons from a local church he's been thinking about attending. We really know nothing about the boy's life, except for the very minor fact that he gets sad when his parents quarrel. Life is a lot more nuanced than a simplistic slop imitation of humanity.
