You say it was, but haha what are the odds? Someone (guy a) coming out to a friend (b), that friend panicked and told on him to another guy (c), who promised to confront (a), but instead of confronting he confided in him that he likes kids too! That sounds similar to some other stories that have came through the grapevine of a guy getting a reputation in a neighborhood as a pervert, but in some cases the warning reaches a boy who, considering himself a bit of a pervert too, approaches the man and becomes his young friend. Sometimes gossip (and warnings!) can serve to connect people in ways that the ones raising the alarm didn't predict. You refer to your writings as ramblings, but some of them sound quite professional, almost as if you were writing this for a school report or information for a professional agency. The way you break down the lingo and vocabulary is accessible enough for a beginner, yet you delve quite deep into the nitty gritty at points, such as helping people recognize the difference between non-offending and pro-c and explaining how the different individuals may be able to get help (if they want help) from b4uact's list of professionals who aren't the type to call the cops first and ask questions later. That german program that serves even active criminals sounds really interesting and perhaps not too different to some other chat rooms we know of where people get help anonymously, removing the need to trust the "therapists." Of course there are so many things that could go wrong with "agencies" like that, but the fact that different groups are trying something besides silence in the face of uncomfortable conversations is a really good trend. Most of the swine around these parts can't appreciate your pearls, so it isn't surprising that your posts get griefed by trolls and naysayers at every turn, but as long as people like you keep on showing up and giving thoughtful people the option to explore the issues our community faces by thinking and talking and communicating (rather than just by ogling at candy) then that small minority of readers will feel less alone. Hopefully some of them join you by making blogs of their own, seeking out therapists from b4uact (if they want that) or just continuing to exist comforted by the knowledge that other kindhearted thoughtful souls like them exist out in the world. ![]() |
