Communities aren't built solely on abstract debate or essays about a topic. They're built on people sharing their lives, their experiences, and what's happening to them as people. I understand the privacy and safety concerns that come with that, but it's entirely possible to do so without compromising your anonymity. People have been doing it online for decades. We did it for decades.

If thats the definition of community then yes, we arent a community. I am skeptical that you can make or be a community solely around a sexual orientation, which is what the (or at least a) modern definition of a community is.

I do not post any personal info or time I spend with kids because i do not trust some people here.

The one time I did, it was painted in a very negative, uncharitable way. Perhaps I should not care, or but I do not want to give any info that can be used or twisted.

I suppose some might argue that I did the same to Roamajous, I dont think its the same, but I could be wrong.

At this point, what purpose does this board serve other than being the default home for people who've been here so long they can't imagine being anywhere else?

why are you asking? What do you want? The board back to the way it was? ( i dont know what that was like, so cant comment)
What are you looking for?
