After your nose was smacked your attitude towards Grenfield changed a lot. Not until after your spanking did you start treating him as a real person with feelings. Note how warm a reception your mostly nonthreatening (besides letting him know that you found zero value in what he had to say) response earned.

Maybe if you'd submit yourself to BC's unofficial Official Guidance Counselor more often you'd discover a whole nother way to relate to people. Being nice works better than always being nasty and confronting people. You ought to try that more often.
