Indeed 15 is old enough that it's normal for much older men to be attracted
to 15-year-old girls. And they wouldn't necessarily be ephebophiles.

That said, most men will not admit being attracted to 15-year-old girls. So one who does, even if his sexuality is normal, might be accepting of MAPs.

It's also important to note that he was only 18 when he dated the 15-year-old, so perhaps him being willing to admit it doesn't actually mean much.
