three wrong gongs

Three people (MLIH, Errant, and I) responded

So three gongs made a similar sound when played? If someone was to invent a gong that every time you hit it it makes a sound like "WROOOOOOONG!" eventually it become clear to people that the gongs sound like that due to their own inner nature, and it's no reflection upon the other people present.

Maybe if the three wrong gongs made a different sound, depending on the circumstances, we might be more willing to consider.
