(note: hoped to post this on boywrite, but could not!)(perhaps someone could transfer it there for me??) Who's heard of these REALLY creative BL novelists? i first heard about Guy Davenport from a Harvard student! And, of Kevin Esser after reading PAN Magazine. Later, i even CORRESPONDED with both of them for awhile, but Davenport (whom 'passed on' in '05) soon got paranoid of me and stopped responding. Oh well. And Esser soon got pissed off at me for being pissed off that his editor, Frank Torey, would not even share feedback when i sent some of my stories to him (if memory serves!). Fond memory of reading of "silly sander glances" and tidbits like that in some of Davenport's writings. The book "The Jules Verne Steam Balloon" was one title that jumped out at me; another was "Apples and Pears" which appears to be open for reading on archive! Quite colorful and fun stories!! LOOK what i found at archive: https://archive.org/details/applespearsothe00dave One of Davenport's best, i have long thought! THEN THERE WAS KEVIN ESSER (still alive!!?) and his GRAND sci-fi BL book "DANCE OF THE WARRIORS". WOW WHAT A READ!! (i was always hoping for a promised (?) sequel that i never heard about) Anyone recall that one? Couldn't find it on archive, but i DID find this: https://archive.org/details/madtobesavednove00esse/page/n179/mode/2up (Essers' book "Mad To Be Saved" appears to be FREE TO READ if you have a free membership with archive org!) (Seems to me BOTH of these authors should be MENTIONED in AT LEAST one of our boywikis! Tho i admit, i have not looked!) [@nonymouse] [Guardster] [Proxify] [Anonymisierungsdienst] |
