The goal here with prison is rehabilitation. And i completely agree with you: being inside a prison does not prepare you for what comes next. Should i buy chocolate or soda, that is by far the most important decision one is allowed in prison. One gets degraded to little child mode. And after prison, it is really hard to get back to normal. Even though i had money and a place, getting a job is hard. There is a break in the resume and only desperate employers want you. Then comes the gap in payments for the retirements, restrictions which jobs one can do, requests for explanations for the gap, and so on. In some branches, one has to supply statements from the police for never having broken the laws, or background checks. And even the slightest thing raises a flag. And one does not want to talk about that experience in prison. My experience is that being nice and friendly pays off. Nobody enjoys prison (even though some have adapted), and everybody welcomes a smile, good morning, how are you. It is a horrible time and having nice people around you makes it easier. By the way, Tyred is a troll. He likes to push other peoples buttons. |
