It's Spring, traditionally the least busy season here at BC. Every year around this time you ask this same question, but seem yet to pick up on the pattern. For example, two years ago Spring was this post recapping your spring panics of years past and urging you not to panic again: Don't we all deserve a Spring Break? Posted by Tyred on 2024-April-6 09:17:46, Saturday It's Spring and those of us with balanced lives have been busy with both inner (spiritual/mental) Spring Cleaning, actual Spring Cleaning in our homes and first lawn mowings and of course Spring Break with our young friends. And then last Spring you, yet again, asked: Been kinda slow lately, hasn't it? Posted by Manstuprator on 2025-April-1 19:38:04, Tuesday When a lot of different voices come together, it can be really lively. But if debates turn sour or the conversations get dull, or the trolls start to take over the board, folks might not feel like sticking around. Nobody wants to be part of a boring or toxic environment. Speaking of which, moderation can really make or break a community. If it's too lax, things can get messy, and people might get put off by negativity. Campaigns of harrassment really turn many people off! So do racist threads. That thread you started last year got a very informative response which answers the larger question of what ever became of all the habituates of this place. As the BMs faded into history the topic of conversation turned more to celebrity boys and links to youtube clips. Instead of friends checking in on friends the politics and history talk that had always existed began to take center stage, making the site boring and less attractive to younger bls. As the younger, more active bls deserted BC, they took their BMs with them to other sites and this site lost even more of it's charm. And fairly or not, a number of the BCers who were left blamed... What was it that they blamed again? Most people here already know that story, but the link is there for the curious. ![]() |
