entitled "The Poison River" comes to my mind, after reading what you say. Familiar with it? Author's name was i think, Steve Raymond. It's about just how naive and ignorant N.Americans usually are when they go to the Third World. In this one, we find Thai authorities using CATTLE PRODS on KIDS, in order to get them to divulge their "best kept secret".

Horrors of life beyond our privileged state, so far. But how long before one of the many bullied nations start sending wave after wave of drones???

If you've seen what the Chinese can do with drone tech, like those floating dragon drone shapes (Wow!!!!), just imagine what they could do in a fight.

Got any other info about this "purple rain" book? (i think you're confusing it with a song by Prince!?)
