TL;DR: The Wilgus Stories https://vimeo.com/24307259 The very cute William Johnson played Wilgus Collier at age 9 (the same age as he) in the short film Fat Monroe, and ages 9 and 14 in the compilation The Wilgus Stories. He was cast out of Hazard, Kentucky, as part of a local effort by filmmaker Andrew Garrison and the Appalshop media collective to use authentic Appalachian voices rather than professional Hollywood actors. After his role in The Wilgus Stories at age 14--when he had begun puberty--he disappeared from film work.
