"Hugely popular?" Never even heard of "Sleepers." Do you recommend it?

(I stopped watching new releases of any kind around the time "Stand by Me" came out. I find the medium sensually overwhelming in a bad way. Perhaps a weakness on my part. But I admit of exceptions!)
