Funnily enough, I got this in my Youtube feed about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and I watched it with approval. I quite agree. D.A.R.Y.L. is a lovely, underrated gem of a movie. (Also, I seem to recall that the men get even more boy-hugging moments in the film than the women - see examples in the video you linked to at 0:39 and at 4:51.)
