"Activism in the present is equivalent to waving our arms around, trying to draw attention to the few areas of the internet that are as yet unpoliced by an establishment against which we have no defence whatever. Sounds right. Used to read people thought the way to go was to live a productive life being a positive for boys and sharing the truth with the very special ones, knowing they'd grow into adults who not only wouldn't hate us but would advocate for us themselves. Makes sense. Who would listen to us after all. May as well have serial killers advocate for the legalization of murder. Not that I'm equating the two types of people, but society as a whole does, with serial killers being their preferred type of odd ball. Meh. Societal collapse efforts seem a better use of time. But screw that, too. The old belief is more fulfilling. Life's too short anyway. |
