A terrifying shark attack took place yesterday in Sydney, Australia. A boy of 12 or 13 had jumped off rocks into the water at a secluded section of the iconic Sydney Harbour. A bull shark attacked him immediately and almost ripped off both his legs. His friend about the same age jumped in after him and pulled him away from the shark while his two other friends pulled them both onto the shore. Boys are capable of such courage and bravery and yes Australian mateship. The heroism of the rescuer is the talk of Australia this morning as he has given his friend a fighting chance to survive. Ambulance officers were on the scene in minutes and as he had no pulse gave him CPR as well as replacing huge amounts of lost blood and keeping his vital organs operating. He is now in a critical condition after two major surgeries and is fighting for his life and a blessing is that he has been unconscious from the very first second. If he survives, and the whole country is praying for him, the bond between him and his unbelievably heroic rescuer, will no doubt be stronger than steel. |
