| He is a brave guy and I bought a few copies of Destroyer back in the day. The one with pictures of the boys of Naples in the 1970s is an absolute classic. If fate had been kinder I’d have been born 20 years earlier. The age for publishing boy magazines was the 70s. That fabulous bookshop Intermale in Amsterdam used to stock picture albums, BL books and Destroyer until it closed in the mid noughties but the times were really against that shop. I have this guy’s other book in which he talks about the shitstorm Destroyer caused in his native Sweden. Like the Netherlands it is another relaxed “live and let live” society that has turned rabidly anti BL. I will be interested to get and read the book. There was a teen gay site and board back in the day that welcomed BLs (if they behaved) called Milkboys. I met this guy there and chatted to him for a bit. He is a nice guy: very clever and eloquent. His interest is more adolescent like me rather than little kids. I’m glad he is still around. |
