I think you might be confusing them.

Elias is the shorter blonde, younger looking confused one.
Alex is the taller, brunette, more confident/brave one.

I think this a year past shooting of the film. They seem 15.

Also, the film was shot in writer/director Anthony Schatteman's home town of Wetteren, Belgium (Flemish Region, where they speak Dutch).

I did think Elias was cuter of the two. He seemed to look on the younger side of 14.
