U16 Social Media Ban

Posted by Bromios on 2025-December-2 18:34:41, Tuesday

The Australian social media ban for under-16yo's is one week away and it is coming a bit more into focus. And it seems a bit of a joke. Deliberately so, I'd reckon.

Banned platforms: Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Threads, Reddit and Kick.

It must have been an oversight not to ban Bluesky. Surely our government wouldn't want to herd our vulnerable young into a demented far-left bubble where any hint of reality is savagely self-censored?

Although kids are already flocking to lesser-known platforms such as Rednote and Lemon8.

And adult platforms such as Tinder, Grindr, and OnlyFans will remain easy for kids to access.

The eSafety Commissioner overseeing all this, Julie Inman Cunt, the true smiling, faceless face of today's preferred totalitarianism, has previously been very coy and giggly about what she might do on the big day. Now she's happily admitting this is just the start. A lot of work will remain to be done.

So it's a first step. We'll all sigh with relief when nothing too drastic happens. For the government, only one thing matters in this: they are forging strong regulatory links with the major social media platforms. The sort of dodgy authoritarian bullying employed by Biden's regime against Twitter and Facebook will now become official policy. The leaders of these huge social media corporations will find that they actually get along quite well with Julie and the gals. Together we do better, ran a government campaign not long ago, and for the elites it's certainly true.

More and more platforms will be added. Regulations will be tightened and broadened. And they'll get there before too long, they'll strangle what current internet freedom exists. Doesn't matter if it takes a few years—Julie's got lots of smiles in her, she's not going anywhere, and she sure as hell doesn't have anything else to do with her life. What could compete with this aphrodisiacal giggle-fest?
