Yes. Adults using deodorants to remove unwanted smells is to say blatantly clear that the boy is perfect as he is. He’s our overlord in every sense, literally. The rest of life is just about trying to become/remain the boy (going to the gym to get the sixpack that the boy has naturally, removing the smell that the boy doesn’t have, etc). I’m suddenly thinking of that scene in Death in Venice when von Aschenbach decides to put on make up in a vain attempt to cosplay as the boy and come closer to God. adds to his dictionary
