The problem is, you're taking your lead from the haters. If MAP becomes common, then it will quickly become a term of abuse. To accuse someone of being a MAP will see you taken to court for the most egregious slander. Calling someone a fag used to be the vilest abuse possible, now it's a chuck under the chin. It's why politically correct terminology needs to be constantly updated -- a new term is at first fresh and untainted, but it quickly gets soiled by the unwashed. Spastic, for instance, was a nice neutral medical term that's now gone feral -- thanks mainly to those angels of political incorrectness, boys. Pederast is imperfect with some of the baggage it carries, but it's the best of the lot. Boylover is okay, in a pinch, but only in written form. I've tried, but I just can't go down the local post office and tell Joe I happen to be a "boylover". He'd look at me funny. |
