I'm not sure the sentiment "P.T. Barnum must be laughing in his grave" stands up to rational inquiry. You seem to be violating your own Bumfuck effect.

But metaphor is evidence of the divine, so I'll accept your subconscious yearning in good faith.

Even Richard Dawkins is reconsidering Christianity after his prissy rational atheism proved such a spectacular bust. Don't see many "brights" around these days. Pagan religiosity is more profound. Worship of boy-beauty is part of it. We should give it another whirl.
