The problem is that (as with Gaza, which also involves killing kids) the actual discussion winds up being about the general politics of gun control (or, in the case of Gaza, Israel and Palestine), not about boys, and certainly not about age gap sexuality. At least, that's my guess as to the cogs' reasoning.

In this case I agree leaving it here would have been the better choice, especially since the relevance of the shooter's sexuality had been raised.
