If there’s a fine line between being principled and being pathological, Filip crossed it long ago. There’s no doubt he’s intelligent; unfortunately intelligence and sanity aren't always on the same page. You can’t seriously claim to engage in academic discourse while comparing researchers to the head of the East German Stasi, not once but twice. Sure, it might make you feel clever in the moment, but if you want to be taken seriously you just don’t say things like that no matter how much you disagree. Throw in his relentless use of scare quotes and the obsessive labeling of anything he dislikes as “pseudo-science,” like some kind of nervous tick, and you’re left with something far closer to a manifesto than a scholarly paper. But Filip isn’t interested in advancing the cause, not really anyway. This is about his obsessive anger and disillusionment rather than about truth. At this point one has to wonder when he will realize he has wasted his life chasing this futile obsession instead of building meaningful relationships with anyone beyond his computer screen. |
