Also, it's not perceived as sexual until the boy turns 13-14. After that, the bathing stops, but the mom occasionally walks in. In many countries there boy's nudity is almost expected. It's more shameful to hide it.

In fact, relatives or close neighbors might be asked to help or at least are allowed to stay to continue a chat or something and nobody complains.

It's just normal to them.
