Funny vid! Read the comments, too. So this guy's in a restaurant in Japan. He orders fried eggs. No problem. Then he asks for a side order of toast. The waitress says they don't serve toast. The guy says, "I see that you have sandwiches on toasted bread." The waitress, "Of course. Ham and cheese comes on toasted bread." Man, "Well, I'd like to order a ham and cheese sandwich on toast. But hold the ham, and hold the cheese, OK?" Waitress: "Fine." Out comes the toasted bread on a plate. The guy, feeling very satisfied with himself, picks up one of the slices of toast. Then he notices that it has mayonnaise and mustard on the other side of it. He forgot to ask them to hold the mayo and mustard. You can't win for losing... M. Like chatbots, Japanese tend to respond very literally, and often they miss the whole point that you're trying to make. Nobody can then argue with them, because they will respond, "I did exactly what you told me to do." |
