Yes, I see more. It's about freedom and liberation. It's about ending the repression and abuse that so many gays have had to live under growing up and even in their daily adult lives. It's about finally being able to be OK with how you feel and being able to celebrate that with you peers. It's about acceptance... not from society but from your people and peers. I am sure it has other meaning as well...
