Not admitting wrongs is BC's raisin d'état

Have you ever seen anyone here admit that they were wrong? The really toxic argumentative types are easy to spot, but even the "open minded" people are mostly agreeing with others who share their opinions and very rarely embracing differences. The almost total lack of moderation is arguably what gives BC it's special flavor, but it also attracts voices who end up here not due to any love of the space, but more as a result of no other place being willing to put up with their antisocial antics. The real mature conversations with respectful back and forth dialogue seeking mutual understandings haven't occurred here in quite a long while, so it's just odd to see people counseling newbies to "just ignore the trolls" as if they were odd men out rather than regular and expected habituates of a site seemingly made for and catering to them.
