Yes, that article does give substantial and useful information about Stamford that was unknown to me. Thank you very much. Perhaps it's enough to write about him, though I'd still love to find someone who knew him.

Can you come up with an equally wonderful source on Torey (but not, please, on the 1976 allegations against him, about which I've read too much)?
