I recognize some of the people involved. One of them had a rage fit against me for something I can't remember too well, and posted her tits on mastodon in a moment of need. There are some of them who meet off Mastodon, but the networks are really small and there are trust/doxing issues. There was discussion years ago about setting up an organisation. Some supported a MAP concept, and created MAP Equality, Dignity and Liberation, MEDAL. It isn't really very active as of now, and there were arguments inside it. The other group wanted a radical queer concept, where paraphiles unite with transids, i.e. transharmful people, wheelchairquiors etc, so I think this is it coming to more pragmatic fruition. There is some backlash here and on Mastodon, because of a general distaste towards appropriating queer politics, since it has a taint by association with mainstream queer behavior. I don't see why we can't benefit from fragmentation of queer community politics. What makes me (but apparently no one else) flinch, is where they throw in "youthlib". It looks out of place, like a clumsy attempt at forced appropriation. The site claims that having real personas behind their activism gives it more authority, and in this spirit, the only way I see the "youthlib" bit working alongside MAP politics is verifiable evidence of youth voice. ![]() |
