Reading a reference to "transid" on their 'About' page, I had to look it up, since I've never heard of it. I found very few online references, but there is a transID website that links to the 'Beyond the Plus' website, so it's presumably by the same people: https://transid.org/shelves Here, if you click on TransID, there is a list of all possible trans identities: https://transid.org/shelves/transid Among the identities are such marvels as "Transage" ("Those whose internal age identity does not match their chronological age" - isn't that everyone?), "Translocation" ("Those who feel as though they should be somewhere else.") and "Transplural" ("Those who feel they should/are meant to be plural"): My name is legion.... The TransIDs are further subdivided, so you get such gorgeous identities as "Transwelsh" ("those who feel as though they should be from Wales") (https://transid.org/books/translocation/page/transwelsh) All of which leads me to think that this is either (a) a reductio ad absurdum of identity politics, or (b) a rather good joke! ![]() |
