Q: What is the copyright status of writings you produce? Is some kind of attribution necessary? Is using your output without attribution plagiarism?

A: The content I produce is generally considered to be in the public domain, and you can use it without needing to provide attribution. However, it is always good practice to give credit when using any source, including AI-generated content, especially if you are using it in a formal context.

Using my output without attribution is not technically plagiarism since the content is not owned by anyone, but it's advisable to acknowledge the source to maintain transparency and ethical standards in your work.

A publicly available Chatbot.

Informal posts on BoyChat require no attribution, and use of materials in the public domain is not plagiarism.

In my earlier posts of the type being discussed, I had indicated that I had used materials generated by LLM within the post.

It is now very common, and considered to be perfectly ethical, for journalists, lawyers, advertisers, and virtually anyone who writes for public consumption to use machine-generated materials without any attribution or disclaimers. It is a common, daily occurrence, and is rarely criticized.

In my case, it is dishonest to now claim that I may be obscuring the source of information upon which my posts are based, as I previously made that perfectly clear in by earlier posts of this type.

Therefore, there are no legal, moral, or ethical questions involved.

Man, it's EVERYWHERE! You can hardly read anything today on the Internet, or published elsewhere for that matter, that has not used any machine-generated text! Wake up, dude!
