My initial burst of enthusiasm lay in the discovery of what appeared to be a dispassionate, meticulous scholar laying out all the evidence. But alas, it appears that like most everyone he's got an axe to grind. What a bummer. I haven't listened to Lecture 3 and may not be able to get around to it for a few days, but did he actually dis Trumbach? And on what grounds? The notion that northern Europeans preferred animals to boys is just preposterous on the face of it.
