Oh! I believe that they said that it was "an Amazon Original." I was really surprised at that since most of their "original" work seems pretty mediocre. So, define "original," I guess. Have you seen it? I wasn't terribly interested in the heteronormative conflicts that preoccupied its first two-thirds but then the boy comes more into his own and the giant, planet-sized asteroid hurtling towards Earth began to displace the earlier normie, back-biting melodrama to become pretty interesting. I was stunned by the young father's decision to kill himself, given that his wife and son needed him so desperately. That seems like it must be a character study of how some people might react to the prospect of imminent doom, I would guess. |
