ABSOLUTELY! We have a lot of problems in this country and it is, in many ways, a failing culture but what we do have is a Bill Of Rights that is second to no other. We must cherish and safeguard that no matter what else we do. We still have, to some large degree, the ability to speak if not entirely without consequence, as we all know uncomfortably well. Europe would not allow NAMBLA to exist at all. It would be forcibly disbanded and, were we to even email one another to continue now-forbidden discussions, we would be imprisoned, as happened in that bastion of open-minded liberality, The Netherlands. In the U.K., and probably in most of the EU, we also would be compelled to sit in a police interview room and, if we failed to answer their questions, then our lack of cooperation would work to our disadvantage in any criminal case. |
