He IS genuine, in his way. I dont get any sense of genuineness from this. How do you know? That it is a performance doesn't make it any less genuine. Yes it does, thats exactly what a performance is. Acting means portraying someone other than yourself. We're seeing complex evolutionary behavior here that has been taking place forever. How do you know? Also, accepting the role that is indicated to you by your parents could also be classed as complex evolutionary behavior. Nothing about complex evolutionary behavior says that this is who the boy really is. They don't have many adult role models for what they want to be This doesnt make sense. How do they know "what they want to be"? as I keep saying, theres no requirement to be this way just because you are gay. They know they want to be a certain way, but need to see others being in that certain way in order to be in that certain way? Doesnt make any sense. I am pointing out that kids can be fully capable of coming up with things entirely on their own. Sure, but are they capable of coming up with an exact copy of an already established performative role on their own? When someone, as a kid, watched John Wayne in the 60s or whatever, and thought he was super cool and wanted to be like him, so started to imitate the way he walked and the way he talked, does that mean that that was who he really was? Or was he just captured by an idea, an image? |
