As I type away in the wee hours of the newest year, I resolve to focus more on strengthening whatever bonds exist among those of us who broadly share one another's views while accepting that there will be others who may, or may not, dwell in an abyss of self-hatred who see it as their duty, or their pleasure, to drive us crazy for their own private, often perverse, reasons.
