Ethan Crumbley is a boy who shot up a school in 2021. Long story short he had a lot of problems at school, with not having friends, and the difficulties of going through middle school (fun times). he hit a breaking point and shot up a bunch of people because hes an impulsive troubled kid. he was sentenced to life without parole (why? pointless cruelty towards a kid imo) i bring him up because he reminds me of boys i've known. one example is this boy who had no friends, was lonely, was depressed, did poorly in school, and he had expressed a desire to kill someone he knew who was a pain in his ass. there's a happy ending to this story (so far) BECAUSE: he met me. i talked with him. we hung out. developed a relationship. although our relationship was short lived, i encouraged him, told him things were going to be ok, convinced him there wasn't anything wrong with him and that he will surely have friends when he goes to a new school, told him we all have bad thoughts sometimes and gave him some strategies to deal with it but also made him feel like hes not some freak because imo not talking about stuff like that and making it judgmental and taboo helps nobody. so i ended up bridging a gap in his life where he was not doing so good. because before you knew it, he made a bunch of friends, had an active consistent social life, had somewhat less negative thoughts, learned some life skills, and didnt need me anymore. of course i was sad about this. and of course i didnt fix everything. he still had self doubts and negative thoughts about himself. but he was less unhappy and you could tell. it's so sad Ethan didn't have someone who was like that. now his life is forever ruined and so are all these other families not to mention the dead kids. |
