You speak of "treatment for trans kids that they have spent most of the last century fighting for. They are not irrational to demand it. It has a proven record of helping them survive and thrive in a hostile social environment." This is bullocks. Trans kids have not been fighting for anything for the last century, much less for these treatments; it is, rather, in the last decade or so that the adolescent population as a whole -- a population famous in the West for its dysphorias, fads, and mental anguish -- has been encouraged to "call into question" their gender identity and to pin their every trouble on being trapped in the wrong body. Nor do the "treatments" have a proven record of anything positive, and though they may be making what appear to be rational decisions, they are doing so on the basis of being deeply, falsely informed. Such delusional thinking is encouraged, as diogenes and SR note, by moneyed interests who find here an opportunity to create life-long patients, and by a creeping trans-humanism that considers the body itself to be an evil and a hindrance (talk about puritanism). The parallels with Child Sex Abuse are clear: get them to believe XY&Z is the source of their troubles (the truth of the matter being irrelevant), then treat them for XY&Z, long-term and for-profit. We BLs are in a position to see this like no one else. |
