The article linked to from your link is behind a paywall, and there don't seem to be copies of the article available elsewhere. There appears to be almost no information about Chris Goode available, and his Wikipedia article is skeletal. Now, how are the folks at The Critic allowed to libel him, without any suits being filed? And if Goode were really guilty of such heinous crimes, why have none of his (so-called) "victims" come forward to feed at the money trough? Without more information, it is impossible to judge Goode. He may have collected (so-called) "kiddy porn" or he may not. He would have been innocent until proven guilty had he lived to face trial. Just because he killed himself does NOT mean that accusations leveled at him are true! He knew (given today's "cancel culture") that his career was finished, and that his name would be forever blackened. For a figure in the arts, "social death" is almost as bad as real death. Or perhaps, worse. So he killed himself. Another victim of the Pedophile Panic, to join the tens-of-thousands of those others who were not worthy enough to be in the news. And your reason for bringing this tragedy to our attention was exactly what? M. I suspect that, as is usually the case, the truth about him is nowhere as bad as the media paints it to be. |
