"Studying the Bible helps me understand what kind of things are morally right or wrong."

I agree. Of all the religions out there I can't think of a god more evil than Yahweh. That says a lot about right and wrong and how most people go along with wrongness just because their religion tells them to. But I actually do enjoy learning about the Bible just as much as any other mythology so long as I don't have to deal with any actual believers.

"Ironically, the vast majority of pedophiles are Christians or from Christian families. I wonder why that is the case?"

I don't think that's as ironic as the fact that most atheists come from Christian families. Ultimately they're both due to how widespread Christianity is in Western society. There's no special connection beyond that.

I understand what you're doing, though. You have these two different ideas that are important to you in your life and you want to smoosh them together to make them both more meaningful (the masculinist BLs do that too with BL and traditional male gender roles). But generally speaking, a god who goes door to door killing little Egyptian kids is probably not a good match with BL. You might feel differently, but I would recommend not getting too hung up about trying to make them compatible.
