In reply to Is co-sleeping really dangerous? (SciShow video) posted by French Frog on 2024-September-2 04:10:10, Monday

Let's get real. The type of danger that children face from nepios isn't the same as the dangers they face from non-MAPs.

Q: Is keeping candy bars, bottles of liquor or bottles of opioids on the bed side table really dangerous?

A: No, that's not at all dangerous, except in the case where the person using the bed is a morbidly obese diabetic, an alcoholic or drug addict. If a person has a history of having trouble controlling their urges to abuse substances and/or fantasizes often about substance abuse, then it's not a good idea for them to sleep with their substance of choice within arm's length.

Q: Is sleeping with a pistol or razor blades on the bedside table really dangerous?

A: No, that's not at all dangerous except in the case where the person using the bed is suicidal or has trouble controlling their urges to self harm and/or fantasizes often about self harm, then it's not a good idea for them to sleep with a self harming weapon within arm's length.

Q: Is it dangerous to sleep next to, swim with, bathe with or change clothes with little children?

A: No, that's not at all dangerous except in the case where the person being near the vulnerable child has a history of child sexual abuse and/or fantasizes often about gratifying themselves sexually with a child.

So let's get real. Even if it's generally safe for most people do do a certain activity, that doesn't mean it's safe for all people. You, dear reader, are the only one who knows what is inside of yourself. If you can honestly say that you have never and would never sexually gratify yourself with a child and you don't fantasize about sex with children, then you are more than likely safe to sleep or tent camp with children, but if you do have those tendencies then it's possibly not safe.
