There’s been six posts about it in two days. There is a known problem with the signed shim that allows all Linux OSs to boot on systems with secure boot. It has a fix. When to implement this fix is a little up in the air due to how this is a problem which affects nearly all Linux OSs in a sort of interlinked manner. In the mean time, disabling secure boot entirely should bypass this problem... For the love of all that’s unholy, please don’t make more posts about this known issue. So, in correction, Windows didn't switch on Secure Boot, but something about the update caused the existing Secure Boot process to deny Tails OS the privilege to boot up many PCs. The solution is the same, but hopefully this new information clarifies some inaccuracies in the OP.
