In reply to Louisiana legalizes surgical castration of pedos posted by Tyred on 2024-August-2 11:50:09, Friday

I'm sure you're over the moon about this, since you're a retard who blindly hates pedophiles, but even from a "normie" perspective, this seems like a pretty dumb decision.

For one thing, this would probably lead to kids being less likely to speak up about being raped. A lot of times, the people who rape children are their family or other trusted adults in their lives. Would a child still want to tell someone that they were abused if that meant someone they knew personally would have their balls cut off? Probably not in many cases.

For another, this might incentivize child rapists to just murder their victims. Child rapists can be castrated, but child murderers can't, so if you're a child rapist, why not just kill your victim, and thusly save your balls? Is this something we really want to incentivize?

Also, I find the "deterrent" argument wholly unconvincing. When people do rape children in our current society, it's not because our society is super friendly and accepting towards child rapists. Punishments for child rape are already incredibly severe, so making them more severe probably won't accomplish much. If someone is willing to risk life on the sex offender registry and decades in prison to rape a child, they'd probably be willing to risk their testicles as well.

This is setting aside the "cruel and unusual punishment" argument against this, which I find pretty compelling, as well as the argument that child-adult sexual contact is not always abusive, so this punishment could be inflicted on someone just for having mutually willing sex with a child.
