Is Edwards even an MAP?

Edwards is accused of 'grooming' young adults and receiving PIM that he asked not to be sent. His crime was not deleting the images immediately. He's probably not even an MAP.

The Crown Prosecution Service should not have gone ahead with prosecution. Were they blackmailed or otherwise forced by The Sun, who were left very red-faced after the initial investigation last year?
