In reply to Aggression Against Pedophiles - E.Brongersma[link] posted by Manstuprator on 2024-July-19 00:07:07, Friday

When this was published, there was no rejoicing at all. It passed by nearly unnoticed. People clung stubbornly to their former beliefs, even if they couldn’t deny that the effects of these beliefs – the examinations, the criminal procedures – were highly harmful to their cherished children.

Why this unwillingness to accept the good tidings? Why do we want to stay in anguish, in perpetual panic? Why do we cling to our indignation, our aggression, our desire to punish, to castrate, or to kill the malefactor, even at the expense of the children’s well-being?

This is the saddest thing. That the system continues to want to create victims. Rather than minimizing negative feelings and reframing neutral experiences as positive, positive and neutral experiences become negative, negative experiences become traumatic. The interests of minors are devalued in order to maximize moral rule.

Offenders are often treated in therapy by addressing their "cognitive distortions", yet it is society that seems to have thinking that is not in line with the evidence. The hysteria is a sign of mass psychosis, pushed by the therapists themselves who take subjective anecdotes as evidence of objective fact. Trauma due to incestuous abuse becomes a universal existing in any adult-minor sexual relationship.

No wonder Brongersma elected for euthanasia.
