For the TBL piano music lovers.....

16 y/o Andrew Guo plays the D-Sharp minor Etude of Aleksandr Sciabin...on Vladimir Horowitz's personal piano, Steinway #CD-503.

And he plays it quite well.

(As a side note...This was the piano Horowitz used almost exclusively in recordings and to tour with...after his death, this instrument went on display at various art museums around the country in the late 90's. People were allowed to actually play it. When it came to the Cleveland Institute of Art I sat down at it with my 14 y/o ass....the action was so scary light and juiced and somehow the sound was modified to really bring out a sort of steely bass and very bright treble...It was set up like a race car for the Indianapolis 500...after just running through just a few snatches of this and that it became quite evident that this particular Steinway was a big part of how Horowitz got the distinctive sound he did....)
