Ballot-harvesting.

I can't see any inconsistency in the idea, at least given the infantilizing nature of mainstream politics. Not to mention their failure to practice what they preach and disenfranchise low-information voters who fail basic cognitive tests of adulthood. So why not give the vote to children who are willing?

It's not like ballot-harvesting doesn't go on anyway, but I tend to be of the opinion that the entire process should now be conducted online, so the counting of each vote is secure and verifiable, not to mention less of a burden on tax-paying non-voters.

Perhaps, then you could easily have a simple test based off four random made-up AI news stories from differing political perspectives, each containing a true, a false and a contentious claim. Understanding this, rather than age, could be the basis for using a vote.

Another idea to fight gerontocracy would be to give each individual a set number of votes (say 1 for every 2 cycles) to redeem at any point in their lifetime; but all of this would have to be bought in alongside reforms to make voting more representative and less beholden to the party system.
