"Most BoyChat Users" are sock puppet characters played by a very small number of real people. Sometimes one puppet argues with another puppet and then a third puppet comes in on one side or the other, but they are often all the same dude putting on little dramas, trying to keep BC from going completely extinct. The more extreme and colorful a character's personality is portrayed, the more you can be sure that they have a long time BCers hand up their hiney. But your hunch is absolutely correct. Most BCers are white middle age to elderly white men. After you've been here a while (if you are actually new and not a puppet yourself) you'll notice that newbies show up, participate vigorously for a few weeks and then disappear to be replaced by other newbies with different characteristics yet similar styles who participate vigorously for a few weeks and then disappear to be replaced again, rinse and repeat. The most obvious sock puppets are the ones claiming to be teen bls seeking older BLs for friendship and more. One sure way to recognize a sock puppet (or puppet master) is to notice who accuses other posters, usually those centering the dignity and human rights of boys in a conversation, of being sock puppets belonging to tpka "Tyred" (Spirit of Tyred, Tyred adjacent etc). Like a cheating spouse with jealousy issues, they assume that everyone is as just as underhanded and manipulative as they are. Start watching for it and it will become easy to spot them.
